Anacaona Restaurant, Turks and Caicos

Infinity and Beyond Travel Video Duration – 2.59 minutes Anacaona Restaurant, Turks and Caicos Travel Video Gourmet Regionale I was just in the right place at the right time, from New York City. I was managing the world famous Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue for many many years. Opportunity opened up at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas where I spent many years during the grand opening. Overwhelming property, spent a lot of time there and once I got the Caribbean in my blood, there was no looking back. - So what exactly does the name Anacaona mean? - Golden flowers from the Taino Indians in Hispaniola - Oh really? Your neighbors - Just to the south - For dinner tonight we have a beautiful conch salad, which is local to the island - It is beautiful, I love the presentation - Yes, it is topped, it is finished with coconuts, some spices, and my entree is a, again local, South Caicos lobster which has been mojo dipped, which is like a Jamaican spices, olive oil and butter and grilled and is served with a mango compote. - So you say it is a local lobster. So how do you get this lobster? - Its caught as usual to the back door by the local fisherman, the conch is from Providenciales and the lobster is from South Caicos - This is such a gorgeous restaurant - It’s oceanfront and it‘s one of most famous restaurants on the island. It’s been around for about 13 years now, so its one of the oldest restaurants on the island and so it’s got a huge following. And of course, either before dinner or after dinner, you can enjoy your drink or a cocktail at one of the most famous bars in the Caribbean, which is the Infinity Bar, which is, the longest bar in the Caribbean, it is right here at Grace Bay Club, it is a great, great spot to hang out - And what’s the best drink there? - It’s probably the “Infinity Martini” which you are enjoying yourself - Let me taste this then. This will be my first one and I’ll have one later, for sure. - But not the last - Definitely not the last

Mediterranean-Influenced Cuisine and Signature Cocktails

Grace Bay Club plays host to Anacaona, the only gourmet oceanfront restaurant in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Derived from the Lucayan Indian word meaning “Golden Flower,” the open-air space of this adults-only venue is filled with palapas and romantic lighting. In existence for some 13 years, Anacaona has established itself as one of the oldest restaurants on the island. Meet food and beverage director Jeffrey Goldstein, as he strolls this peaceful and intimate setting with our host. After having worked at such illustrious establishments as New York City’s Carnegie Deli and the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, Goldstein shares his passion for settling into this smaller Caribbean mainstay. Get a taste for what this signature hotspot is serving up with executive chef, Martin Davies. Conch caught by local fishermen in Providenciales is transformed into a beautifully displayed salad enhanced by coconut and spices. Lobster from South Caicos is grilled and served alongside a savory mango compote. The famous Infinity Bar is the longest bar in the Caribbean and hosts guests for a pre- or post-dinner drink, generally its signature Infinity Martini.
