The Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a colonial-style complex on the white sand beach of Arena Gorda, located on the east coast of the Dominican Republic near Punta Cana. This busy resort attracts families with many fun activities for children. Pueblo Principe is located near the resort entrance and is a replica of a bustling Dominican village featuring shops, restaurants, bars, a small casino and a disco.

The resort’s grounds feature landscaped tropical gardens equipped with sunshades and lounges. Tasteful narrow streets crisscross through the gardens for guests to stroll on. In the lobby atrium, marble floors shine under a wood-framed structure, and delicate floral arrangements dot the area. The walls are covered with stylish works of art. Metal palm trees and a flowing fountain decorate the central plaza. The spacious guestrooms are all junior suites featuring ochre-and-white ceramic tile floors and pastel green or ochre and white painted walls. Mahogany and rattan furniture grace the living areas. Twin or king-sized beds are equipped with orthopedic mattresses topped by gold floral spreads. They also feature ceiling fans—although every room is air-conditioned—and have a terrace, and a minibar. The baths include a Jacuzzi tub.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of cuisines at any of several air-conditioned restaurants on the premises that include that include the Main Restaurant, which serves an international buffet, as well as restaurants serving Italian, Mexican, Japanese, American and Mediterranean cuisine. For more informal fare, there is the Lobby Bar, swim-up pool bar, Beach Bar, Karaoke Piano Bar and a snack bar serving fast food until midnight.

There are many recreation options at the resort. Tennis enthusiasts have four courts to play on. Guests can play mini-golf or choose to go horseback riding, while water sports include fishing, sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, water-skiing, and windsurfing among others. Located at the hotel entrance, the Spa offers massages and body treatments, a Jacuzzi, sauna and a complete gym. Youngsters can sign up for the kids club where they can take part in many exciting activities.
