On a 1500-foot stretch of beach amidst lush tropical gardens on the South Coast of Barbados sits Turtle Beach Resort, named for the sea turtles that lay their eggs on the property. Located near the St. Lawrence Gap where nightlife and restaurants abound, this all-inclusive resort is ideal for vacationing families, couples and singles.
Accommodations at the Turtle Beach Resort include six categories of junior and one-bedroom suites, each decorated with rattan furniture, Caribbean colors and modern touches. All boast private balconies or patios with views of the ocean, grounds or pool.
Guests of the resort have three dining options to choose from as well as dine around privileges at Turtle Beach Resort’s partner properties. Chelonia Restaurant serves international cuisine all day in an alfresco setting. Asiagos offers Italian cuisine for dinner in a formal setting and accepts children 12 years of age and older, and The Waterfront Restaurant offers light fare for lunch and dinner. Cocktails and refreshments are available at any of the three bars.
The resort boasts two free-form freshwater pools, a Jacuzzi and a separate children’s wading pool. Non-motorized water sports such as windsurfing, boogie boarding and kayaking are available free of charge. On land, sports include two lit tennis courts and an air-conditioned fitness center, which also features aerobics and Aquacise classes. For duty-free shopping, daily transportation to and from nearby Bridgetown is also offered. The Tommy Turtle Kids Club keeps children entertained during the day.
