GPS Coordinate: 0, 0
Located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, the Riu Bachata resort overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. As part of the larger Riu Complex along the Maimon Bay beachfront, this all-inclusive resort attracts families, couples and singles.
The lobby of the Riu Bachata is decorated with dark green marble, carved pillars and ornate tile work. The grounds of the resort contain small gazebos, winding pathways and one- and two-story bungalow-style guest buildings surrounded by more than 12 acres of tropical gardens. Guest rooms and suites have traditional mahogany furnishings accented by patterned fabrics and a terrace or balcony that overlooks the gardens, mountains or ocean. Suites include an integrated living area.
Bahía de Maimón is the resort’s main restaurant, offering buffet dining, on-the-spot cooking stations and theme dinners twice a week. Maracuya is a poolside restaurant and bar serving breakfast, light meals and snacks throughout the day, while a la carte dinner options include an Italian restaurant and a grill and steakhouse. International wine, beer and tropical cocktails are served day and night at poolside swim-up bar Los Lirios, and Caramba is a lounge bar with a stage for entertainment.
The Riu Bachata has two swimming pools and one Jacuzzi, and the beach offers water activities including windsurfing, snorkeling, sailing and kayaking. There are two floodlit tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, a sports pitch and a fitness center. A golf course and an equestrian center are located nearby. The “Caribbean Street” found at the center of the Riu Complex houses the Renova Spa, the El Millón casino and the Pacha nightclub for nightly music and dancing.
