An all-inclusive resort, Meliá Caribe Tropical attracts families with its Flintstones Club-featuring themed activities and events for kids aged 4 months to 4 years, 5 to 8 and 9 to 13. Adults have access to Playa Bavaro in Punta Cana and nearby attractions like Isla Saona and the Village of Altos de Chavón, considered the art center of the Dominican Republic.
Meliá Caribe Tropical Beach has live flamingos roaming around its bungalows and in the gardens. The lobby features boardwalks, sculptures, and fountains that enhance a modern look. The rooms-all junior suites or larger-have sitting areas that are separated by an arch and are comfortably furnished with marble floors and wall murals creating a tropical ambience. Most feature furnished balconies or terraces. Bathrooms include a combination tub and shower and some also have a TV.
With 13 dining venues, guests have a wide choice of cuisines. Buffet services are offered at four restaurants: Market Place and La Gondola for continental breakfast and Italian lunch, and El Turey Grill and El Agora Grill for international beach cuisine. The resort's nine à la carte dining venues include Le Gourmet for international fare, Ma Maison for European cuisine and The American Grill for American food. Hokkaido offers Japanese delicacies while La Pagoda serves Oriental dishes. La Hacienda specializes in traditional Mexican cuisine. For fresh seafood, there's Capri and for a special treat guests can sample a traditional Dominican meal at El Guarapo. Gabi Club provides contemporary fare exclusively for guests staying in the resort's Royal Service suites.
Meliá Caribe Tropical Beach offers outdoor activities like a rock wall for climbing, tennis and water sports like snorkeling, kayaking and surfing to name a few. The Cocotal Golf & Country Club offers 27 holes of championship caliber golf; the hotel has a casino and a boutique shopping area. There are two spas with full menus of body treatments, and the resort also offers wedding services.
