Part day spa, part beauty clinic, Ajune is an Upper East Side medi-spa that fuses noninvasive treatments, like facials, with physician-administered procedures, like Botox and chemical peels. Ajune is focused on keeping a serene atmosphere, and its frosted glass, blond wood and candles are a far cry from the feel of a doctor’s office. Travel down the “hall of whispers,” a long corridor cloaked in flowing, cream-colored drapery, before entering one of 13 treatment rooms, which feature soothing, modern decor and in-room showers. In addition to clinical services and facials, the spa also performs body treatments, massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing and laser hair removal. Custom-tailored services flaunt their technicians’ expertise, with clinical procedures being performed or overseen by a board-certified plastic surgeon. High-tech gadgetry, like LED light therapy to increase collagen and IPL (intense pulse light) therapy to diminish sun damage, is the norm here.
The Menu: Nonmedical cures center on detoxification and circulation improvement. Try the Ajune Classic Ginger Massage, the Essential Oil Sea Salt Scrub, the Extreme Clean facial and the luscious Godiva Chocolate Body Wrap, in which you’ll be painted with a mixture of chocolate and healing mud. Clinical fixes feature Juvéderm and Perlane injections, enzyme peels and laser therapy (the latter recommended for those wanting to heal acne).
The Must-Have: Looking to purge your skin-sinning past? The LED light therapy and glycolic peel that are part of the Ultimate Ajune Glow facial will lighten sun damage, boost collagen, tighten the skin and forgive you for all those times you overdid it on the beach.
