The Hilton New York

GPS Coordinate: 0, 0
The Hilton New York has more rooms than any other New York hotel and rises high above the bustling streets of Midtown Manhattan on West 53rd Street. Offering efficient service that is characteristic of this famous chain, the Hilton draws an international mix of business and leisure travelers. With its vibrant on-site bar and prime location near Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and all the theater of Broadway, the Hilton is one of the most trusted names in New York hotels.
The Hilton New York is very popular with families and solo travelers seeking luxury, convenience and full-service amenities. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is surprisingly quiet, considering it’s only 12 blocks from Times Square. Wide sidewalks and numerous street vendors allow for pleasant strolling without an overabundance of tourists, and much of the neighborhood consists of glass and steel office buildings characteristic of the city. The Hilton’s 1,980 rooms on 45 floors are decorated in earth tones and floral prints, with emphasis on simple practicality rather than high technology. Serenity Beds are found in each room, with down comforters and pillows. All guest rooms have mini bars, iPod-compatible alarm clock radios and 27-inch televisions with HBO. Bathrooms are stocked with Crabtree & Evelyn La Source bath products. Luxury suites range from one-bedroom suites to five-bedroom penthouses, and all offer access to the 44th floor Executive Lounge for continental breakfast, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and all-day coffee and tea service. Decor in suites is classic and elegant, with mauve floral prints, rich cherry wood and charming chandeliers. Newly renovated Accessible Rooms, measuring 600 to 2,000 square feet, have a residential feel with kitchen facilities and Executive Lounge access.
There are three on-site dining options, each with distinct offerings. Etrusca, a Tuscan restaurant, serves handmade pasta dishes, risotto, roasts and succulent seafood. New York Marketplace offers a more casual atmosphere in an open-air setting and serves American and Japanese buffet breakfasts. The Lobby Lounge serves light fare and cocktails, and an on-site Starbucks coffee shop is open daily until 3 p.m. There are also numerous places to eat in nearby Times Square, and charming cafés in the Theater District for guests who wish to dine off site.
Exercise enthusiasts will marvel at the hotel’s 8,000-square-foot fitness center, available for an extra fee. Spacious and filled with windows and light, the fitness center has various Precor cardio machines with personal television monitors, as well as free weights. Massages are available either in guest rooms or the hotel spa and include an assortment of treatments, like aromatherapy and maternity massages. Private yoga and Pilates sessions are also offered.
The hotel is situated just down the street from The Museum of Modern Art. Entertainment at the Ed Sullivan Theater, Carnegie Hall and Rockefeller Center is a mere 10 minutes away, and many Broadway theaters are located within a five- to 10-block radius. Guests can also enjoy recreation in Central Park, only five blocks north of the hotel. The Hilton New York concierge can help guests book tickets to Broadway shows and bus tours of the city.
