Cancun is one of Mexico’s most popular vacation destinations thanks to its powdery beaches, warm Caribbean waters and picturesque views. Playa Delfines, or "Dolphin Beach", is a prime example, known for its stunning setting and secluded atmosphere.
Playa Delfines offers an untarnished natural setting, despite its location at the southern end of the Cancun Hotel Zone. It is one of the only stretches of white sands not bordered by hotels and developments. The postcard-worthy stretch of sand is pure white powder, bordered by swaying palm trees. From its elevated vantage point, Playa Delfines affords sweeping views of the Caribbean waters, and on clear days shades of turquoise, green and indigo are visible among the waves. The beaches moniker is well earned, as it’s quite common to see dolphins diving and frolicking just off shore.
While it’s the perfect place to soak up the sun and just take in the too-good-to-be-true views in the shade under a palapa, Playa Delfines is also popular with surfers and is one of the only beaches in Cancun where surfing lessons are available. Currents can be strong so swimmers should observe the conditions flag on the beach. A green flag means the waters are safe.
One of the best Cancun beaches, the exquisite sands and stunning ocean views of Playa Delfines should not be missed.
