Richard Petty Driving Experience, Las Vegas

The Need for Speed Travel Video duration – 4.48 minutes Richard Petty Driving Experience Las Vegas, USA. Adventure – Guy Stuff Travel Video Tom Stocking, Driving expert The Richard Petty driving experience gives you the opportunity to drive a star car on a race track, 155 miles an hour, as fast as you want. There are 25 race tracks nationwide. We’ve been to four other countries, England, Germany, Canada and Australia. It’s a thrill of a lifetime. We will probably, out of maybe 45000 drivers, we’ll probably see about 8000 women. The best advantage that women have over men is they don’t have testosterones. So they tend to be better drivers on the racetrack because they pay attention, they understand what’s going on. What’s the fastest that you’ve ever driven? I’ve driven about 170 miles an hour in Texas and about 135 miles in Phoenix but it’s a small flat one mile track so that’s pretty fast on a short track. So what do we do to get started? We’re going to go inside, we’re going to get you a suit, get you some real shoes, put you through some instructions so you know how to behave in a race car on the race track at speed, we’re going to get you done. You’re ready to go? I’m ready to go. It’s time to go put your big girl pants on so come on, let’s go. Alright Ok Amy here’s your name tag, your official NASCAR license. Ready to go? We have a gigstick this is actually going to identify you should anything happen. Just kidding, it’s actually your incar video identifier. So, I’m gonna bring you inside, I’m going to introduce you to your crew chief Ricky and he’s gonna give you all your instructions, I’m gonna meet you on the pit road. Ready? Yeah Let’s go Richard Schneeweis Crew Chief Here we go, what we want you guys to do is to follow your instructor; you’re going to e in the car, by yourselves. We’re going to get off the pit road using 2500 rpms. Ease off that throttle coming into the stands nice and smooth, just like those big boys do every Sunday. Ten and four, today, keep your two hands on the steering well at all times, Ten and four, stay in the instructor’s tire track that’s where we’re going to get all the speed from, that’s where we get to go fast. As long as you guys show us you can handle that race car, we’re going to get you guys down to the speed. Ok we’re going to get you in the car now. Alright Very simple, once you start with your right foot. Dukes of hazard style. Yeah daisy dukes, you got it. Glad you aren’t wearing the shorts alright? That’s right. Ok watch the steering column going in, alright. Tuck your shoulders in, there you go just like the pros. I did it. (Laughs) You did it. Now give that a tug for me, to make sure it doesn’t come off alright. Alright Amy you’re ready to go? Ready That’s Tom over in that car, he’s coming up now. Ok Alright Amy he’s going to flash the light at you, there’s your green light, there’s your yellow light, so we need to back up a little bit. Green light, get closer, yellow light back up. So you ready to go, this is your first gear… Hahaha I’m alive, that was awesome. Did you see what I did?
