Hi, my name is Franz Wisner and I’m the author of ‘Honeymoon with my Brother’ and a follow up book ‘How the world makes love’ which is a look at love, dating and romance around the world. So of course you have to be here in Las Vegas and this is the love epicenter, 120,000 marriages a year. People come for the shows, come to gamble but more than anything they come for the romance. From the taboo weekends to the top of the line weddings, Las Vegas has it all. - Will you marry him? - Absolutely. - You may kiss the bride…. - Ohhhhhhh (Music playing) - Bonjourno - Bonjourno - Thanks for the lovely boat ride - Oh my pleasure…this is a Venice, Las Vegas. - Happy to chat with you today about weddings Las Vegas style - Weddings in Las Vegas can run again the gamut from the Elvis wedding to the most grand ceremony and the grand reception here with all the bells and whistles here, just as easily as you can have the drive-up wedding window wedding and and they are all just as beautiful and full of love. (Music) - Elvis, Priscilla congratulations you guys - Thank you - Now I gotta ask ya…You are from England…People from England are supposed to get married in nice quaint churches…What are you doing here in Las Vegas? - Well we did that 25 years ago…We had a big white wedding and we did all the romance spots…we came to Vegas in 2000 and we knew that we had to come back here for our 25th wedding anniversary. So we picked Elvis (3rd person - she’s in love with Elvis ) coz I always loved Elvis (3rd person - and we just thought Elvis is the man to do it for us) (Music and voices) - What secret tips do you have for people who are just getting married today? - Never fall asleep on an argument - That’s a good one - Yeah (3rd person - and we always make up for each other and we love each other) - And plenty of Elvis (Music) - The biggest advice I give them is two point no. 1 be selfless in your love…Its two lives meshing & becoming one and so being selfless in love and no. 2 having a heart of forgiveness…forgiving one another…we’re all human…we will make mistakes - Its crazy and its bold and shiny and fun and exciting but it’s you know Las Vegas is a little goofy and a little silly and a little kitschy…love is all those things wound up into one and you can be whoever you want to be here in Las Vegas. You know they say Paris is the city of love but I got to tell you Las Vegas gives it a run for its money. Sun-up to sun-down 120,000 weddings here a year, the Elvis chapels, the high end weddings and even the fabulous nights out here on the Strip…Las Vegas and love go hand in hand.

When it Comes to Weddings in Vegas, Anything Goes

In Vegas the only phrase more popular than "I’m in" is "I do," and you’d be hard-pressed to count more hotels than wedding chapels lining The Strip. Whether you’re looking to start the rest of your life or simply the rest of your night, Sin City is the destination for fancy or fancy-free weddings.

The Forever Grand Wedding Chapel at the MGM Grand may be the closest thing to a traditional wedding venue that Vegas has to offer. Every bridezilla-inducing aspect of the big day, from catering to flowers to the wedding night hotel room, can be arranged by the chapel’s service team. Choose from two venues located in the hotel, the Legacy chapel, with room for 70 guests, or the more intimate Cherish, which accommodates up to 45. Each chapel is designed with elegant simplicity in mind, from wooden panel details and ivory and rose accents to brilliant chandeliers and hand-painted murals.

Other options at the hotel include a romantic vow exchange on La Terraza overlooking the glistening pools below, or a more private and chic ceremony atop one of the hotel’s three exclusive towers. Couples can choose from one of six bridal packages offering live piano music, professional photography and limousine service. Dressing suites include a private powder room with makeup mirrors for a whisper of vintage-style romance. For the reception celebrate in the romantic privacy of your own suite or at one of the award-wining on-site restaurants. Additionally, you can choose to pamper yourself pre- or post-ceremony at the Grand Spa or Christophe Salon.

At the other end of the spectrum, you can stage your wedding in the midst of a Las Vegas great: Elvis himself. The Elvis Chapel, decorated with a nod to the 1970s, with forest green carpeting and faux pillars surrounding the altar, is unlike any wedding venue you’ve seen before. The real draw, of course, is the Elvis-impersonator-turned-minister, who walks the bride down the aisle, marries the couple and then serenades the honeymooners with a few Elvis hits. Upgraded packages are also available, including the kitschy Aloha package, complete with leis and music from the movie Blue Hawaii.
