There’s no business like show business at the Planet Hollywood Resort, which brings a little cinematic glitz to Las Vegas. Occupying a coveted location in the center of The Strip, this mega-resort boasts a plethora of dining and nightlife options and more than 170 shops. Despite its roots in old Hollywood glamour, this Las Vegas luxury hotel is decidedly modern, with pulsating electric marquees adorning the facade and an energetic vibe that appeals to fun-loving, active leisure travelers.
The hotel entrance resembles a sci-fi movie set with illuminated glass pillars and dramatic escalators leading to the sleek lobby and its black granite floor, undulating walls and neon light features. Inspired by Hollywood’s golden age, guest rooms and Las Vegas suites embrace clean lines, crisp linens, rich woods and patterned textiles. Placed throughout the rooms are original movie memorabilia, like costume pieces, props and posters. Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, flat-screen televisions, high-speed Internet connections, in-room refrigerators and 24-hour room service are standard amenities. Suites run up to 1,400 square feet and include dining areas, wet bars and iPod docking stations. En suite marble baths have deep soaking tubs, glass-enclosed showers, separate water closets and vanities stocked with custom cleansers and moisturizers by PH.
A range of cuisines is available at the award-winning restaurants on site. Fine dining options include Japanese-inspired cuisine with a Californian twist at Koi and chef John Schenk's traditionally prepared steaks and famed 24-layer chocolate cake at Strip House. Casual dining includes Los Angeles staple P.F. Chang’s China Bistro for contemporary Chinese cuisine, Yolos Mexican Grill for a spin on south-of-the-border fare and Spice Market, which serves an international buffet. Planet Dailies coffee shop, Pinks Hot Dogs and Earl of Sandwich offer quick bites.
Guests at this Las Vegas resort can party like Hollywood royalty at any of its six bars and nightclubs. The Privé club embodies a sexy South Beach vibe with dancing all night long. Guests won’t miss a moment of betting action at the playing field lounge and might rub elbows with a celebrity or two at the Extra Lounge, the Vegas headquarters for the television show Extra. The Heart Bar, with its dark wood and mirrored glass, and the Living Room, with its sumptuous velvet decor and fireplaces, offer sophisticated lounge atmospheres and extensive signature cocktail menus. At The Pleasure Pit women dressed in lingerie, deal cards and call craps and roulette. As is standard in Las Vegas, live entertainment runs the gamut, including the interactive dinner show Tony n Tina’s Wedding and Peep Show, a sexy mix of cabaret, dance and music that has featured a roster of personalities from former Spice Girl Mel B to Holly Madison of The Girls Next Door.
In addition to two pool deck areas, Planet Hollywood is home to the Spa by Mandara, an exclusive full-service facility with a signature menu of treatments and therapies, including Swedish and Balinese massages. The on-site gym features state-of-the-art cardio machinery, weight training, personal fitness, Pilates and body composition analysis; it’s equipped with a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room. Miracle Mile, a mall that provides guests with 170 retailers, restaurants and a number of entertainment venues, is the ultimate Las Vegas shopping experience. Hotel staff members offer planning services and packages to ensure that weddings become truly cinematic experiences.
