Sandals Royal Caribbean is an all-inclusive resort located on the North Coast of Jamaica at Montego Bay. Exclusively for couples, this resort has something most do not: its own private island with a restaurant, bar and beach where guests can slip away for secluded relaxation.

The Georgian-style Great House and guest buildings are surrounded by lush gardens and bordered by a stretch of palm-lined beach. Accommodations are furnished with traditional colonial décor, and most feature private balconies. Different suite categories offer amenities such as personal concierge service and whirlpool tubs. There are even unique “swim up suites” set right on the lazy river that winds through the property.

Sandals Royal Caribbean has six restaurants, ranging from casual to formal dining, and four bars that serve cocktails all day long and into the night. For dinner, Le Jardinier has Mediterranean cuisine and international specialties are on the menu at The Regency, served on a deck overlooking the water. The Pavilion offers authentic Jamaican cuisine served alfresco, and Asian dishes are offered at the intimate Royal Thai on the resort’s private island, Sandals Cay. Casual options include the Beach Grill and the Cricketers Pub.

At the main resort, activities include kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving lessons, tennis and beach volleyball. There are four swimming pools and five whirlpools with ample space for lounging on the sun decks or the sandy beach. The Dragon Boat takes guests over to Sandals Cay, the resort’s private island. Clear aqua water surrounds the private beaches on the island, which are outfitted with canopied Balinese beds; there is also a pool with a swim up bar and the Royal Thai restaurant. The full-service Red Lane Spa specializes in couples’ massages and offers a variety of other body and beauty treatments. For nighttime entertainment, the hotel offers live performances, reggae night, carnival parties and a nightclub.
