Surrounded by forests, waterfalls and mountains, the Royal Plantation Spa & Golf Resort in Ocho Rios is an adults-only resort set on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Offering both all-inclusive and European plan pricing, this intimate resort appeals to couples and adults.

A colonnaded portico frames the entrance to the hotel. The 74 suites have wooden floors, custom-made mahogany furniture, king-size four-poster beds dressed in Italian linens, and ocean views. All have marble bathrooms and most feature Jacuzzi tubs. In addition, there are two private villas-one with three bedrooms, one with six-each with its own private swimming pool, staff, catered meals and other exclusive perks.

Royal Plantation Ocho Rios has Jamaica's only caviar and Champagne bar; dining options ranging from formal to casual. Le Papillon serves meat and seafood dishes, accompanied by vintage wines. Mediterranean and Jamaican cuisine and wines are served al fresco at La Terrace. For an informal dinner on the beach, grilled meats and fish are on the menu at The Royal Grill. The Royal Café on the Beach offers light fare with a Jamaican flavor.

The resort has two private beaches with personal “beach butlers” to attend to guests. Scuba diving is a specialty, and there are Hobie Cats, kayaks and other non-motorized water sports as well. The resort has its own 18-hole championship Upton Golf & Country Club, and the European Spa offers a full array of treatments either in marble treatment rooms, individual guest suites, or on the beach.
