It’s a great vessel and a lot of fun and we’ve never had a bad time. It depends on what you want to do. If you want to go have dinner, if you want cocktails, if you want to go exploring, we’ve got a great tender, we can get in and out of little tiny bays as well and so, we are very versatile. And having a look at the island as well, you can, talking to friends the other day, they get to see homes that you just don’t see from land. You can go around, you see the architecture, you can see old and new and get to look at the island from another perspective. Makes it look a much larger place, very exciting. My family has been here for a couple hundred years, being on the water was natural, learning how to sail, living on a little island every summer with my family, and it just seems – it’s where I belong. And so, for me, a day on the water, whether I am working or not, is still good. So it’s more of a passion for me. I like what I do – I love what I do. Teresa, thank you for having me on board the Venetian, I feel like royalty. It’s so exciting to have you here. Can you tell me a little bit about the Venetian experience that you’re offering people? Teresa Chatfield Director, The Venetian Curise The Venetian is the most luxurious, the most opulent and the most unique boat on the island. There is nothing else like it, there’s no one else that produces the food, the service, the style and has the décor that this boat has. This room here is special because people tend to have small intimate dinner parties either for eight or up to 24 in this room. And you can set it so that it’s a plated meal, people can dine in comfort because of the air conditioning. Moving down below, we have four cabins – there’s a stateroom, which is sumptuous and the bathroom is to die for. In fact, every time I show everyone that bathroom they go “Ah I wish I had that at home” Then, on the stern on the boat, we have another area where you can dine or you can sit and relax or alternatively, you can go up to the top of the boat, where the captain is driving it, and we have cocktail parties. You can have a cocktail party for up to fifty, fifty five people comfortably on board. A glass of champagne, looking out on the pristine waters of the island, from that perspective, this was the perfect boat for what we want to do. Hi Cheers everybody! To Bermuda! To Bermuda! Where do you guys go to have fun in Bermuda? I mean the locals, the real spots Richard Madeiros Nothing can be better than being on the water in Bermuda, I mean nothing at all. If you go two miles off the island, get out of your boat in knee deep water and turn around, and you can’t see the island. The waters here are amazing. David Seferiadis Bermudians are a little bit of beach snobs, true. But any other beach in the world, it is just downhill from here Yeah Alexandra Mosher As a local, there are all sorts of events going on here. We get happy hours, sunset parties, cocktails in the evening in many of the places. It’s a wonderful place to be. Charles Webbe I think the best thing about Bermuda are the people. You know, the camaraderie that’s established the moment you meet people….(murmur) – that’s the best thing about Bermuda, the people welcome you here. Jenia Thompson I can imagine basically when the two ends of the islands just get together, and they play a cricket match so its very very competitive – people on the island are very either Somerset or St, George’s. There is no in-between. Dale DeLloyd Butler And people will try and convince you to change teams and there is also a culinary art that takes place – at Cup Match you can get conch stew, conch chowder, mussel pie, curried goat and people look forward to going there, not only to socialize and you’d think they would be interested in the cricket match but to play Crown and Anchor, the gambling part of it and to also enjoy the culinary aspect of the game as well. What about dancing? Where do I go to dance? Philip Trott Well that depends on what type of dancing you like to do. If you like to do salsa dance, we have a really big salsa community on the island. The Sabor dance school is one of the biggest and I think they have something on Friday nights at the Verandah Bar. A lot of people come out to that, it’s a great place to go, it’s really different. It gives you another aspect of Bermuda that has a, you know, a diverse culture. I’ve been to a lot of places in the world. I’d say it’s definitely my top class. You don’t find anywhere else as clean as Bermuda. I mean, you hardly ever sea trash in the streets, the beaches are beautiful, you get greeted, you say “hello” people say “hello” back to you. You don’t have to worry about anybody just shrugging you off, - life here is just great. I’m a jewelry designer and an entrepreneur, and the way that you can sort of, be a part of the tourist market, you can capture what the – what the essence of Bermuda is. I like to represent the collision of water against rock or the cultures, it’s beautiful. Well, I think it has a lot to do with the origins of Bermuda. There’s always been a certain element of style here. I mean, we took those shorts from the military and we put them into that elegant Bermuda short with the long stocking and the, you know and the jacket and the tie that go with them. So you know, things are done, I like to think, a little more upscale. Here, I am not going to say that, we don’t have, you know, a lower class on the island. We do. Our lower class is right on the middle class of anywhere else. I’m actually really proud about the type of opportunities I’ve been afforded just by growing up here. I’m really proud of my country.
