Miracle Treatments

Larimar Spa, Aruba

Miracle Treatments – Larimar Travel Video duration – 4.17 minutes Larimar Spa Palm Beach, Aruba Travel Video Nirvana – Spa Bruce Cavan Spa director Larimar is originally from the Dominican Republic, the stone itself. It’s only found in only one mine in the entire world, it’s in the Barahona Mountain just outside the capital, Santo Domingo. Mar means sea in Spanish which many people know and Lara is actually the first name of the man who first discovered the stone, it was his daughter’s name. So we are very fortunate here that we get to incorporate it into the treatments that we have, our signature treatments. It’s done very well for us and people have been very happy with its healing properties. As you can see each piece is unique. As you look at the jewelry, all these pieces in the case are also Larimar. And there’s not one that’s alike. You’ll see veins of sometimes green, sometimes red in them which make them even more unique but this stone has been used for healing in the Dominican Republic for quite a long time. She’ll be your therapist. This is… Hello ma’am. Hello. This is our signature aloe vera and rum setup that we are going to use on you today for your massage. We have different elements like the local rum; we have the lime zast for the luxurious oil along with the pure aloe vera gel right here from our factory. Black beach stones in combination with our Larimar stones. Welcome to Larimar spa herb garden. As you can see we have various plants out here. Some of them are decorative but a lot of them are used, in our spa as well as in our kitchen. Out here in the front we have various types of aloe vera which of course Aruba’s famous for and we also incorporate it in the treatments in the spa itself. We also have some herbs growing out here that we use in the kitchen. This is oregano so they use it quite a bit in the Sunset Grill. We also have flowers growing out here, this is Indian jasmine and we also have frangipani or sometimes people know it better as Plumeria, there you can smell it right here. It’s not too fragrant but it’s really pretty so we take it, float it in the pond sometimes. We put it on tables whenever it is in abundance. So we are very fortunate to have the herb garden here in Aruba. It is something that you don’t see very much of, and. I think currently we are the only hotel in Aruba that is growing one on site. So we feel very fortunate to have it.

The Larimar Spa Uses its Namesake Stone to Heal

Named a “Hot Spa” of 2007 by Condé Nast Traveller, the Larimar Spa at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa is an oceanfront oasis, ideal for relaxing and rejuvenating after a day in the sun or a night at the casino. Set amidst the resort’s 14 acres of waterfalls and gardens, the spa includes nine treatment rooms, a beauty salon, private terraces, a fitness center and tranquil outdoor relaxation areas housed in eastern-inspired bamboo structures with day beds and lounges.

The spa’s name comes from the blue volcanic Larimar stones that are used—along with Aruban black beach stones and local aloe vera and algae—in several of the customized body treatments.

The Menu: The Larimar offers a complete range of treatments including massage, body therapies, facials, hair care, waxing, nail care and men’s services. Island inspired treatments like the Marine Prelude and Ocean Sensations Journey, compliment ayurvedic-inspired therapies like the the Qi-Baume massage and Euro-Indo Massage Ritual.

The Must-have: There’s no better way to get on island time than with the 80-minute Aloe Vera Rum Massage. Lime, Aruban aloe vera and native rum are incorporated during the massage, followed by an aroma-infused aloe scalp massage. Hot Larimar stones are then applied to sooth away tension and complete the relaxation process.
