An all-inclusive, beachfront luxury resort on popular Palm Beach, the 9-story Occidental Grand Aruba underwent a renovation and name change in 2008. The Occidental Grand (formerly the Allegro Grande), has landscaped tropical gardens, a free-form swimming pool with swim-up bar, and an on-site casino drawing an international clientele.

Guest rooms at the Occidental Grand Aruba are average sized, decorated with dark wood furniture, tile and marble floors and a color palate of neutrals, blues and greens. All have terraces or balconies outfitted with tables and chairs, a full bath and shower, satellite television, and air conditioning. The Occidental Grand Aruba's more exclusive Royal Club, located on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors, offers more personalized attention, upgraded toiletries and linens, and extras such as champagne served upon arrival.

There are six on-site all-inclusive restaurants at the Occidental Grand Aruba, including the international buffet at The Palm, Italian cuisine at L'Olio, Mexcan food at El Olvido, Zen, a Pan-Asian restaurant and sushi bar, and Desire, with a Caribbean fusion menu.  Several lounges serve cocktails.The Occidental Grand's disco, Sound, is open nightly till 2 am with live music and DJs.
